  Crafted from cast iron with 4-bolt main caps, the block (P/N 10105123) is designed for robustness and stability. The forged steel crankshaft ensures maximum strength while the powdered metal steel connecting rods (P/N 10108688) and cast-aluminum pistons (P/N 12514101) contribute to the engine's optimal performance.

  Featuring a hydraulic flat tappet camshaft (P/N 24502476), this engine delivers precise valve timing with a camshaft lift of .435 inches for intake and .460 inches for exhaust. The Vortec iron cylinder heads (P/N 12558060) with 64cc chambers and 1.940-inch intake valves provide excellent airflow, enhancing power output.

  With a compression ratio of 9.0:1, the engine is balanced externally and includes a dual-plane intake manifold (P/N 12496820). The ignition timing is set at 32° Total @ 4,000 rpm, allowing for a maximum recommended rpm of 5,100.
